Boo Boo Sleeping

My sister's kitty is keeping us company while we deal with my father's passing. She is especially sweet as if she knows we need her.

Assistance to Motorists

How can an electronic sign say "power fail" even if it is on battery. That is like the drive-thru lady at McDonald's telling you through the speaker that the speaker is not working.

Lane's Porch

What better place to eat your peach ice cream than in a rocking chair overlooking the peach orchard.

Select Peaches

Their top tier peaches cost a bit more but are well worth it. This along with the homemade peach ice cream makes Lane a good pit stop between Florida and Atlanta.

Lane Peaches

Our last stop before home was to get some local peaches. We would normally put Pepper's head in the wacky cutout but he was busy licking himself.

Mexican Food Makes Me Sleepy

He didn't have any but slept like he did in the car.

Dogs Like Tortillas

Burrito Brothers still gives you everything in a plain brown bag and their tacos and chorizo meat burrito taste as good as they did during Vanilla Ice's heyday.

Guac Sign

Thank god they saved the old school sign advertising their superior product. Burrito Brothers is keeping it real in their new outdoor patio. Fortunately for Pepper he was allowed to join us.

Old Burrito Brothers Location

They tore down the whole building and we had a moment of panic and sadness. That is until we called them...

Gainesville Burrito Brothers

As former Gators we had a yearning for some old school cheap Mexican food. We found it in a new location - thank god!

Creepy Pregnant Frog

Not much to say here. It is in my parent's atrium and is very loud. They also seem to be reproducing. Frog lovin'

Tyson Vending is Awesome!

The moral of the story is that when you see a chicken vending machine, run to it!

Grilled Cheese from a Vending Machine

It is possible and is the most magical experience ever. Something so artificial has never been so good.

Tyson Vending - Now We're Getting Cocky

This button looks too good to be true. We have been taking lots of pictures and they just made an announcement for security. I am ready to bolt!

Tyson Vending - 2 for 2

I was worried about the main course but it was a spicy baked chicken strip meal that actually tasted like it was near an actual chicken. Score!

Tyson Vending - We Want More!

With our good luck, we decided to go for the big one - chicken!

Tyson French Fries - 1 for 1

The first entree was very good. Crispy, hot, and flavorful. My compliments to the computer vending robot chef. This is the future technology EPCOT was talking about.

Vending Anticipation!

This screen is great for giving me a countdown to yummy.

Tyson Vending - How It Works

Amazingly, it is using an oven to heat various frozen items. They guarantee it is hot and crispy but I have doubts. As an experiment, I will risk $1.50 for some french fries - I am in a hospital after all.

Winter Park Hospital's Tyson Vending Machine

In the midst of horrible hospital food we found this oasis. We weren't that hungry but we had to see what this magical machine could do.

Hospital Tender-roni

My dad's meals in the hospital leave something to be desired. The description on the order said "tender" and I think that by the look of the texture, it looks like the steak still has tire marks.

Limena Chicken - The Main Event

We shared a whole chicken and the spices in the rotisserie made it much better than even Costco chicken - a high honor!

Limena Chicken Homemade Sauces

The chef brought us some sauces she invented. The first one is a sweet mayo and the second one is a spicy sauce. They are meant for the chicken but stand up well on their own.

Limena Chicken Appetizer 2

Choclo Peruano con Queso is the same corn as the starter but on the cob. It is served with a fresh feta cheese and goes well with it.

Limena Chicken Appetizer 1

Yuca a la Huancaina is a half dozen fried yuca pieces with a cheese sauce. Just to add another level of heart clogging goodness, they throw a hard boiled egg on top.

Limena Chicken Starter

The large pieces of salted corn kernels were like a combination of nuts and popcorn. Very good texture and taste.

Limena Chicken

This unassuming Peruvian chicken restaurant may be located next to a mattress store but is a nice gem in Winter Park, Florida.

Pepper on the Road

He is doing OK for an 8 hour car trip. So far, so good!

Delta Morons

We arrived "early" and cannot pull into the gate on the left for 15 minutes. Notice the empty gate on the right side of the picture. Nice job Delta! They blamed it on yesterday's storms? May as well blame it on the breakup of musical sensation Menudo. At least that makes more sense.

Empty Plane

What do you get when your plane leaves 2 hours late? An empty plane of apathy. Yay Delta!

Jim Neely & His Magical BBQ

I knew when I saw the line it would be good. It tastes better than it looks so there is no picture of my pork plate. You are better off not seeing it.

Mosaic Elvis

Only this airport could do justice to the King in tile form. It is so real that it smells like bacon.

Memphis in the 60's

I am here for a short one day visit and had to take a picture of the modern airport facilities. I feel good about this since this is what Elvis must have seen.

Pepper's Got Mail

One of the earliest tricks Cheryl taught Pepper was to have him bring the mail up the hill. He takes great pride in his delivery contribution and gets his proper reward of a popcorn treat. If he could push a lawnmower, I would give him a T-Bone.

Chops Buckhead

Another 30 dollar coupon, another intown meal. Who goes to a steakhouse and orders Peruvian Sea Bass? When it is this good I do. The Hong Kong style on sautted spinach is light, airy, and delicious. Let the other mouthbreathers order prime rib if I can have this.

Feel the Excitement

Feel the water, be the water...

Scott, Reece, & Ducks

Peaceful yet risky!

Action Shot

Fear illustrated.

Reece on his Own

He went out alone. The overconfidence is funny. He is going down.

Reece Overboard

The video is coming and it will be ugly.

Vote for the Fat Guy Pointing

I do not know who Roger Garrisson is but I plan on voting for him because he may call out an APB and point at me.

The Counter - Again

My third time there must mean that I really like the place. I decided to finally get the sliders and I wasn't disappointed. I thought it was funny that they said the burgers would be cooked medium since they were so small that after 2 minutes they would turn into a charcoal briquette.

Sitting on the Patio

Pepper and I are discussing important issues like politics in a round table setting.

Home Bound with Macho Marek

I am home for a while and have received questions as to why there are no blogs. Between the July 4 holiday, a lull in travel, and working from home, I am in my pajamas most of the time.
In an effort to hold everybody for a while I have attached a video from Comcast's Dating Video on Demand. This gentleman from Slovakia has the screen name "Macho Marek". When you see the video, you will understand why. Enjoy!

The Look of Fun - Sun City Peachtree

Can you feel the excitement of it all? You too can move to Sun City and feel the love.

Sun City July 4 Picnic

After the parade we went and had some good barbeque. Cheryl and I failed miserably at simple beanbag games. At least the bluegrass music was better than our outdoor game skill.

Best Golf Cart - Sun City July 4 Parade

Because they were throwing out good quality ice cream I supported this one but since it was not patriotic, it did not win. The controversy will be as crazy as the 2000 election and the Geritol council will need to intervene.

Throngs of Old People Cheering

Between the beer and raucous atmosphere, the authorities had to use water jets to subdue the mob

Sun City Golf Cart Parade

I feel honored to be attending the first annual July 4 golf cart extravaganza. I thought since the community was so new that the parade would only have 8-10 carts but there were almost 20 of them. Very impressive - I guess that is why they are "active adults" and not lumps of coal.
