We were able to walk from the Marriott to this Argentinian Steakhouse. It looked good from the outside even if it was across the street from Tequila Joe's Party Hut.

San Juan - Day 1

Here I am. I got upgraded and ended up coming on a nice sunny Puerto Rican day. I may partake the Happy Hour depending on my degree of happiness. It is nice but would have been nicer with Cheryl. Everyone say "awwwww"

Bonjuk - Beef Mushroom Porridge

This tray with an enormous amount of rice porridge arrived with kimchi and other sides meant to make you more sincere. It was very good and filled me up fast. The sauce that comes with it is not spicy as expected and the brine water provides the level of saltiness you want in a controlled manner.
Cheryl had a pumpkin porridge that was excellent and we ended up going back and forth tasting each other's. I would highly recommend this Duluth eatery if for nothing else the feeling of eating like Goldilocks. It was just right.

After we sat down we watched the Korean version of Soul Train on the TV and looked at the posters to see what to order. The English translation is somewhat lacking but apparently porridge makes you healthier and more sincere.

Traveling Meat from Memphis

The last few trips to Memphis have included dinner at this very good BBQ place. I was excited to see they were freezing their meat for convenient travel. According to the friendly proprietor, it is damn good. I think that is as good a testament as any considering it is meat bought in an airport.

Caja China Assembly

The Caja China super pig cooker arrived yesterday in 2 giant boxes that my lovely wife had to drag up the hill. Like a kid at Christmas I had to begin assembly immediately so I can begin learning the ins and outs of the magical chinese box. I only have 3 months to rehearse for the pig party!

I am Dagwood

I am working from home for a few days and making lunch is generally an adventure of leftovers but I was inspired and made such a beautiful sandwich of turkey and buffalo pastrami that I had to take a picture. For those of you who don't know who Dagwood is, he is a cartoon character who liked to make sandwiches that were taller than him. A strange premise and pop culture reference but at least I didn't reference Alf's love of eating cats.

Illogical Crown Club - Ft. Lauderdale

I do not understand how Miami can have the crappiest closet of a Crown Club but the airport 25 miles north can have one of the biggest and nicest. It is 4x the size of Miami and has some decent draft beers and amenities. I don't pretend to understand Delta's logic.

My View of Boca

I know you are jealous that I have a good view of the Amtrak train and I-95. I stay at the best places when I travel and the Embassy Suites with its' 1982 architecture of stucco and clay tile does not disappoint.
