Coconut Chicken

We went to a place called Green House in St Maarten and it was local and very good. My appetite approves.

Ladies Love the Jewels

I do not think this needs much commentary but mud flap ladies in St Maarten love their jewels.

Al Cohen

This place in St Thomas has the greatest prices of liquor. Who would have thought a Jewish man would do so well here.

Holeman Pig Snout

This is a little hard to see but Holeman and Finch really uses the whole pig. The waiter brought us the pig snout he planned on eating later. These guys use La Caja China and if our New Year's Pig comes out half as good, I will consider myself lucky.

Holeman Beef Tartar

This was served with a quail egg and while it freaked out some of our dinner companions, they could not deny the flavors of high quality meat and spices.

Holeman and my Pork Belly

This wonder was served with kale and was well worth the 2 hour wait we endured for one of 30 seats in the whole restaurant. I am glad we had 5 people to split it with, it was like pork flavored butter. Mmmmm.....pork fat goodness.

Holeman & Finch

This plate was once full with various meat parts like pork belly and beef. This restaurant is a gastropub of sorts and we had some of their food last week in Serenbe. It was filling and awesome.

Foggy California Morning

It was weird to wake up to a San Francisco like fog. It was very heavy and made my trek to Starbucks tricky.

BevMo - Lots of Beer

This is one of 6 aisles of beer - half of which I have never seen in Georgia. Fortunately I will be coming back and I will begin a big suitcase.

BevMo

This mecca is located across the street from my hotel in Turlock, CA. It has a great selection of beers and wine but thanks to the terrorists, I cannot bring any home in my carry-on luggage. The terrorists have won.

Beer Sampler - Valley Brewing Company - Stockton, CA

This truly is the best way to go when trying a bunch. The IPAs were especially good and hoppy for me. The food was mostly burgers but went pretty well with the beer.

Valley Brewing Company - Stockton, CA

On the drive between Sacramento and Turlock we stopped in Stockton for lunch. Their version of the "Miracle Mile" had a little brewpub that looked decent. West coast microbrews rarely disappoint me.

Walker - Food Ranger

This guy was all over the food festival and I admired his coat. His Native American name should be "Dresses in Darkness".

Mmmmm.....Carrot Cake

We went to the La Dame food festival and while it was excellent, this cake combined my love of carrot cake with my love of eggs and bacon.

I Love Fall

I know it has been a while since the plog was updated but I have not been traveling in a few weeks. There will be some postings in the next 2 weeks from California and the Dominican Republic but I will miss the colors of the Georgia Fall.

More Gator Gloating

This is a diagram of how the University of Georgia kicks field goals. They learned this from another winning football program - Sister Mary of the Suffering High School.

Georgia Failed

This is a picture following the embarrassing loss by Georgia to my team Florida. I am unsure why there is a "wrap-up show" after a 49-10 loss. I enjoy the french fries on the sports desk. I guess it represents the fact that Georgia was 40 fries short of a Happy Meal - go Gators!
